Taceno

Over a classical structure terraced with houses arranged along Via Vittorio Emanuele. At number 18, it is a fresco, probably of the eighteenth century, depicting the Madonna of the belt with the Saints. But it is not the only example of popular devotion: a Good Shepherd is located just ahead.

Beyond the works of sacred art and the beautiful landscape, the interest of Taceno lies in having preserved an outstanding example of traditional craftsmanship: in Via Manzoni, in the old core of medieval style, is still today the workshop place peacocks where copper is worked with a mallet donkey head of the eighteenth century. The workshop uses the hydraulic power produced by the torrent Maladiga just as they did in the past, when the river was moving his dozens of craft shops machines.
