Margno

Margno the beginning of '500 suffered for a short time the rule of Gian Giacomo Medici, called the Medeghino; later it became a fief of the Mountains. Note is the parish of San Bartolomeo (XV century) that has within it a pulpit and carved wooden confessionals by experienced local craftsmen. Many stucco and paintings date back to the seventeenth century.

Today Margno is a summer resort and is the starting point of the cable car to the Pian delle Betulle, ski center and entertainment venues. In the hamlet Bagnala are the ruins of the fort "La Bastia" which since the Middle Ages was used to defend the Valley, such as those existing in Baiedo, Primaluna and Introbio.

Margno is an ideal starting point for hikes of all difficulties. Away from traffic and city chaos you can spend wonderful days in the open.
